What is a Photo Montage theme?

A Photo Montage is an animated graphic theme that functions as a plug-in inside FCP and Motion, designed exclusively to present your still images contained in a folder in your hard drive, by automatically placing them inside this animated Montage, and without the hard work that this task would entail.

As a summary: A photo montage theme is a fully animated, loopable and customizable plug-in that helps you display your images in an attractive and interesting way.

Capabilities

This plug-in uses a folder full of still images and automatically places them into the Image wells (or drop zones). You just have to point to the folder of images you want to use and presto!

You are also able to use the name of the image as its own photo caption. The theme will automatically add the names without the ,jpg or .tif extensions, but you have to name the images yourself.

The theme also provides visual guides to let you know that the full set of pictures have been included and up to what point, as well as letting you know where the looping points are throughout the sequence.

The theme element

The Photo Montage is just one plug-in and you can find it inside the Generators Tab of your filter collection inside Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express or Motion.

There are several controls that allow you to manage the appearance of the captions, text options and looping control.

If you obtain the Mondrianesque Complete theme (available separately), you can create other elements that will match the look of the photo montage.

Custom Settings

Mondrianesque offers just enough controls to make your presentation as personal as possible.

The usual Font choices are standard features, plus the ability to select from 3 color palettes, adjust the speed of the animation, include the name of the image file as the "auto-caption" and editorial guides to help you find the perfect spot to cut or loop your elements.

Image Preparation

With the advent of digital photography, now is easier than ever to have enormous image files in your photo collection, therefore the images may need to be prepared and resized in order to be used comfortably by the theme.
